Product Delivery Intern
Job Description:
About Newton Russell
Newton Russell builds the future of risk and compliance for financial services. Our platform, Brontë, powers critical risk and compliance workflows across banking, insurance and broader financial services. We move fast. We build in person. We back our people to do their best work.
Why this role exists
Brontë lives with demanding enterprise clients, and shipping it well takes a well-run delivery engine: clean Jira boards, tight release plans, thorough UAT, and clear communication to everyone from engineers to steering committees. The Product Delivery Intern works alongside our Product Manager to keep that engine running and learns modern product management from the inside of a live enterprise delivery program.
What you'll do
Product definition support
Help draft user stories, acceptance criteria, and sections of PRDs under the guidance of the Product Manager.
Support breaking the roadmap down into epics, stories, and tasks in Jira.
Help capture and document design requirements from client and engineering discussions.
Delivery and release support
Support release planning: track features against release dates and flag what's slipping.
Assist with UAT of feature releases - preparing test scenarios, coordinating testers, and logging results.
Help draft release notes for production deployments.
Track blockers and follow up on open items so nothing falls through the cracks.
Jira and SDLC operations
Help keep the Jira backlog groomed, prioritised, and current.
Maintain Jira hygiene - consistent conventions, clean data, and up-to-date statuses including keeping it structured for agentic AI use cases.
Log, triage, and track bugs through to resolution.
Quality and testing
Help create end-to-end test scenarios for test automation.
Support QA coordination across releases.
Cadence and communication
Take notes and track actions from the engineering daily standup and bi-weekly platform standups.
Help prepare weekly/monthly roadmap updates and content for the steering committee slide deck.
Keep product documentation up to date with what's in production.
What we're looking for
A recent graduate or final-year student in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or a related field or someone early in their career (0–1 years) who wants to break into product management.
Strong written English: you can turn a messy discussion into a clear, structured note.
Highly organised and detail-oriented you notice when something is out of date, mislabelled, or about to slip.
Comfort with (or eagerness to learn) tools like Jira, Confluence, and modern AI tools like Claude.
Enough technical curiosity to hold your own in engineering conversations you don't need to code, but you need to want to understand how things work.
Proactive and reliable: you follow up without being chased and finish what you start.
Bonus points for: any exposure to agile/scrum through coursework or projects, QA or testing experience, experience with AI tools, or interest in fintech and financial services.
What you'll get
Direct mentorship from an experienced Product Manager and delivery leadership, with real responsibility that grows as you prove yourself.
End-to-end exposure to enterprise software delivery: requirements, sprints, UAT, deployments, release comms, and stakeholder reporting.
Hands-on experience with an AI-native SDLC including how agentic AI is used in real product delivery.
Work that matters: the releases you support go into production at Tier 1 financial institutions.
A clear path to a full-time product role for outstanding performers.
Why Newton Russell
You prefer to be in person. We move faster together, iterate in real time, and invest in the Colombo office as the heartbeat of the team.
You want high ownership and high trust. We back people to ship and learn quickly.
You want to join a rocket-ship early in the journey.
